PB & J Smoothie

So my summer mantra lately is “you can tell its summer when I live off of smoothies, salads, and ice cream”. This statement is accurate not too far off either. Lately, I’ve had smoothies 5 out of 7 breakfasts during the week. Salads for most lunches and dinners consist of more salad, possibly some pizza or veggies, and then ice cream. The days I don’t have a smoothie for breakfast, it’s probably in there for lunch or snack. My most favorite as of recently is this PB & J smoothie. It literally tastes like the best part of the classic sandwich, the middle, no white bread. I add in a scoop of pea protein by Vega, and that combined with Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and tons of fiber keeps me full for a LONG time. This is now my go to smoothie for long on the go days. 

Ingredients:

1 scoop protein powder (optional)

1/2 cup Greek yogurt

1 heaping TBLSPN peanut butter

1 whole frozen banana

1/2 cup very cherry frozen blend (a berry and cherry blend from Trader Joe’s)

1 huge handful of spinach

1/2 cup water or milk/ milk substitute 

Make it!

Combine all ingredients in a blender, and mix on high for about 1 minute until smooth.
